I arranged this virtual studio day as a tribute to the London-based lady silhouettist April Fielding.
Silhouette cutting takes place online, so no need to worry about masks or social distancing! All our studio days consist of a series of 10-minute portrait sittings, which take place over Zoom.
After booking your sitting(s) you’ll receive an email ticket containing a Zoom link and further information.
On the day you’ll be asked to log in to the Zoom event shortly before the time you chose from the list above. Charles will cut silhouettes of you and your family and pop them in the post afterwards.

Who was April Fielding ?
The English silhouettistte (her word, not mine) April Fielding is a mysterious character. Until this year I didn’t even know her name. I knew such as artist existed only by the occasional example of her work which popped up, sometimes initialled ‘AF’, or just ‘A’.
Her style is instantly recognisable as she usually cut her silhouettes in two parts (the head and body being separate) and then embellished the head with extra details in pencil. Her name , and the fact that she was a woman, only became apparent when a kind virtual studio client sent me two of her silhouettes with a label on the back saying:
“April Fielding fec., Silhouettistte • Crystal Palace • 1909”
